Antonio de Pereda y Salgado 1611-1678, was one of the most notable painters of the Spanish Baroque. In his paintings of still lifes and vanities that can be found in the Prado Museum in Spain and other great museums, they appear frequently, reproducing the most important Pocket watches of the XVII century: a valuable and trustworthy testimony to consider, when studying the watchmaking of the time.
