In the 1920s, digital Pocket watches made their appearance, marking the hours and minutes by means of digits engraved on white paste disks, visible through dial windows or apertures protected by a thin sheet of transparent celluloid. This system was also applied to some wristwatches of the same period. They have not ceased to be a novelty without more transcendence.
